Home Health Aide and Skilled Nursing

If you or your loved one are managing an acute condition or have specialized medical concerns, Professional Healthcare Resources offers private duty nursing to meet your needs. Private duty nursing provides more individual and continuous skilled care than can be provided in a skilled nurse visit through a home health agency.

Medicaid Waiver

Professional Healthcare Resources participates in the Medicaid Waiver Program, which is personal care approved and authorized by Medicaid services in Washington, DC (coming soon in Maryland and Virginia.) Medicaid Waivers help provide services to people who would otherwise be in a nursing home or hospital to receive long-term care in the community. These waivers are called home- and community-based services (HCBS).  All of the HCB waiver programs are authorized under Section 1915 of the Social Security Act and are fee-for-service programs, meaning that the provider is paid by Medicaid and not the individual receiving services.

FAQs About Personal Care Services

A: You should find out as much as you can about a homecare provider before you refer yourself or a loved one. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • How long has the agency been in business?
  • Is the agency licensed by the state and certified by Medicare?
