Personal Care

At Professional Healthcare Resources, we recognize the importance of providing the supportive care necessary to help our clients maintain their independence and remain safe in their own homes, and our personal care services are designed to do exactly that. Whether assistance is needed a few hours a week or 24/7, we have the ability to customize our services to provide whatever level of support you require. Our personal care services include:

  • Assistance with bathing & dressing
  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal preparation
  • Medication reminders
  • Transportation
  • Companion services
  • And more!

Private Duty Nursing

If you or your loved one are managing an acute condition or have specialized medical concerns, Professional Healthcare Resources offers private duty nursing to meet your needs. Private duty nursing provides more individual and continuous skilled care than can be provided in a skilled nurse visit through a home health agency.

Medicaid Waiver

Professional Healthcare Resources participates in the Medicaid Waiver Program, which is personal care approved and authorized by Medicaid services in Washington, DC (coming soon in Maryland and Virginia.) Medicaid Waivers help provide services to people who would otherwise be in a nursing home or hospital to receive long-term care in the community. These waivers are called home- and community-based services (HCBS).  All of the HCB waiver programs are authorized under Section 1915 of the Social Security Act and are fee-for-service programs, meaning that the provider is paid by Medicaid and not the individual receiving services.

FAQs About Personal Care Services

Q: How can I pay for home healthcare services?
A: Personal care services can be covered by private pay as well as some long-term insurances or Medicaid (VA & DC only). If you are not sure what your insurance covers, please call your insurance company directly. Also contact us if you have more questions at 877.747.7479.

Q: How do I know I am choosing the right homecare provider?
A: You should find out as much as you can about a homecare provider before you refer yourself or a loved one. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • How long has the agency been in business?
  • Is the agency licensed by the state and certified by Medicare?
