Chief Executive Officer
Mr. DeCesare joined Professional Healthcare in its very early stages in 1995 and through his leadership has taken the company from a start up operation to the largest privately owned, independent home healthcare company in the region, with over 800 employees, and $40 million in revenue. His leadership, determination and business acumen have enabled Professional Healthcare to outpace its peers, to grow while others have collapsed and to leverage market opportunities when presented.
Mr. DeCesare follows the home healthcare industry very closely and provides strategic direction for the overall planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s goals. A most recent company achievement under his leadership, was the inclusion of six of company’s eight branches being named to the HomeCare Elite, an annual review and listing of the most successful Medicare certified home healthcare providers in the United States.
By executive order, Mr. DeCesare serves at the pleasure of Governor Kaine on the Health Information Technology Council, which is focused on leveraging information technology to improve patient safety and health outcomes as the complexity of our health care system continues to grow. He is also involved in programs and conferences with the National Association of Home Care (NAHC) and serves as a board member for the Virginia Association of Home Care (VAHC).
Prior to joining Professional Healthcare, Mr. DeCesare was an Estimator at William A. Hazel, one of the largest total site development contractors in the region. His job duties included solicitation of bids, pre-qualifications of vendors and subcontractors, budgetary and firm cost estimating, negotiating and writing of subcontracts, initial project scheduling, writing of change orders and budget maintenance through project management software. William A. Hazel has played a substantial role in the development of numerous Commercial Centers, Golf Courses and Planned Communities in the Northern Virginia area over the past 40 years. A few of the more notable include, Burke Center, Reston, Cascades, South Riding, Broadlands, Fair Lakes Center, Dulles Town Center, Fair Oaks & Reston Hospitals and Fairfax & Prince William Parkways. Mr. DeCesare has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia.
